Kimberly Brubaker-Bradley is the winner of the 2018-2019 winner of the California Young Reader Medal in the intermediate category for her book The War That Saved My Life. She lives with her husband and two children on a farm in Bristol on the Tennessee/ Virginia border in the foothills of the Appalachian mountains.
