Battle Decks
Battle Decks, also known as PowerPoint Karaoke, is a fast-paced, fun, hilarious event where your colleagues attempt to put together semi-coherent presentations on the fly with random slides they’ve never seen. Contestants are judged by a panel of low-level celebrities (uh, fellow library peeps) and audience participation.
Loteria
Join your hosts Ady Huertas, Sonia Bautista, and Beatriz Preciado for a night of Loteria (a Mexican game of chance, similar to Bingo). Win fun prizes, enjoy music, meet new friends (virtually, of course) and learn a Spanish word or two! This is sure to be a great way to celebrate and have a good time after a day of conferencing! Be sure to grab your favorite beverage, noisemakers, and even your cat, and join us for this fun-filled Virtual Loteria!
After Hours Gaming
Take a break after all those awesome panels and relax with your library friends! Play some old favorites or be introduced to a new game or two. Participants will choose live what games they want to play. Games could include: Among Us, Jackbox Games (like Quiplash or Drawful), Bingo, Scattergories, Scavenger Hunts, Pictionary, and more. Feel free to suggest games! A facilitator will be online to moderate games and explain rules or technology if necessary. Not a gamer? Feel free to hang out anyway and cheer everyone on!
Play D&D
Love roleplaying games? Join your library friends for a night of D&D! We’ll guide new players through the finer details of playing the game while providing a fun one-shot for players new and old. Playable slots are limited by our volunteer DMs but everyone is free to be an audience. Participants will need to create a free account on Roll20.net in order to play. (Please do so prior to this event.) We will use this as our common online "play space" for maps, miniature tokens, etc. If you’ve never played D&D, this is a great opportunity to watch it live and learn what it’s all about!
President’s Party
Join your host, CLA President Jayanti Addleman for a celebration at her Virtual President’s Party. This event is sure to have lots of surprises, prizes, music, surprise guests, and a whole lot more. It’s the can’t-miss event to celebrate the culmination of the 2021 CLA Virtual Conference.
