MIDTOWN HACKER LAB

Come see the Hacker Lab that helped launch Sacramento Public Library’s Design Spot and the Sierra College own Maker Space. Located on 17th and I, the Hacker Lab is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week so that members can come explore any time the mood strikes. You will be treated to a continental breakfast and 3 classes, just for our group. The classes are:
1. 3D Printer class (but not your everyday printers!)
2. Laser-cutting class
3. Wood-shop class


LIBRARY SCAVENGER CRAWL & BRUNCH

Do you put your book down on Friday nights to catch an episode of “The Amazing Race?” Are you highly ambitious and competitive? Do you like mimosas? If you answered yes to any one of these then this event may just be up your alley.

Individuals will be placed into teams to check out different libraries in the downtown Sacramento area. Questions will be required to be answered at the various locations. The first three teams to complete all their questions will be awarded a prize. The scavenger hunt will have a registration period from 9:30 until 10 and will promptly end at noon. Brunch will be served at 12:30 PM at the Rio City Cafe in Old Sacramento. Vegan and vegetarian options will be available.

Disclaimer: this event requires some walking to get to the various library buildings. Comfortable shoes are advised. It will take place rain or shine.


CALIFORNIA MUSEUM TOUR AND LUNCH

Participate in a docent led tour of the California Museum which “reflects all aspects of California’s diverse population and culture, with an emphasis on the contributions of women and under-represented groups.” The featured exhibit is entitled “Voting in California: 1850 – 2016”. A box lunch is included. Located on 9th and “O” Street.
